These are padded shoulder straps. With a nice balance of stiffness and softness, handling is very easy.
Alternatively, you may choose the flat, wrap style straps that are wider and don´t have any padding. Instead, they provide the weight over a larger area of your back. However, handling is not as easy, because you have to actively spread the fabric over your shoulder. Otherwise, the flat straps may be less comfortable than the padded ones.
In general, we can not say which type works better for you, it is different for every parent. If you are not sure, pick the padded straps :)
